Poppy is named after the beautiful orange California poppy, which he resembles. He is a young, gentle giant who wants nothing more than safety and a loving caregiver.
As you can see from his soulful eyes, Poppy is an old soul, wise beyond his years. Perhaps that has to do with the hard time he experienced while trying to fend for himself on the street. Poppy is such a sweetheart who needs human touch! When he was rescued, he was depressed and malnourished, but he is getting perkier and healthier with each day he's shown love!
Poppy does well with most other cats. He is mostly submissive, so he could use a watchful human protector to ensure he's not bullied by other pets. In his foster home, he lets two young kittens run all over him, nuzzle him, and eat food out of his dish. What a gentleman!
