My Story

ARRIVED: FEB 28, 2021 This adorable little guy is Platypus Perry - Perry if you please (he doesn't mind one bit)! Perry came to our little rescue as a surrender because he wasn't quite feeling himself! Perry had a massive bowel blockage that was causing him so much pain and discomfort. A short time after he had a urinary track blockage too. Perry is doing much better since his little mishap and is feeling like a whole new kitty! Perry has been an indoor cat his whole life, so we are hoping his transition into a new home will be made easier by that fact. Perry's ideal home would be a calm one where he will have love, attention, and time to adjust to his move! Perry loves having feline friends around. Perry is fine with calm dogs and has been found to do well with older children. Bit we found he tends to pick his people. And is not found of everyone. Perry is, well moody. There have been times when it appears he will storm someone. He has not "attacked" anyone but his body posture shows signs of disstress. At that time we give Perry space, and he snaps out of it. We are not sure why he does it, but know it seems to come out during moments of severe changes. Due to this behavior we have seen a few times he is listed as a special needs cat and should not go into a home with elderly or children. The best thing about Perry? He's a massive talker! Birds, weather, politics, television - he carries on about all of it! This sweet boy is a very needy kitty and can't stand to be without his people, so his new family needs to be prepared to spend a lot of time with him! He's up for any adventure, as long as it's with you! This sweet boy is looking for a fresh start after a hard situation, and he just needs the chance to prove how good of a boy he is! We are a small non-profit organization run on volunteers and donations. Adoption fees are $100 to help cover spay/neuter, Rabies & Distemper vaccines, dewormer, flea/tick/ear mite medication, FIV/Feluk tests, dentals and any other medical treatment needed. We are a home-based foster program prior to attempting to visit us please complete an adoption application and wait for an approval. Our focus is on outdoor cats that do poorly outdoors so all cats must be adopted as indoor-only companions and are not to be declawed. If you are interested in a barn/garage cat to keep you company and help with pest control, we do have a barn cat program available as well. Thank you!
