My Story

Piper is a sweet and sensitive soul who appreciates life's simple pleasures—a warm bed, a sunny window, good food, and good company. She's the type you'll find curled up with a hot cup of (catnip) tea and a good book on rainy days (no, she can't read, but that won't stop her from curling up ON a book!). She's searching for a calm, quiet home where she can be the center of her adopter's world. In return, she'll offer a lifetime of love, loyalty, and good conversation. Piper has had some stress-related cystitis in the past, so to keep her healthy, happy, and pain-free, she's on daily medication and a prescription diet. Don't let that scare you off, though! Her prescription food is common and available from any vet, and she takes her medications in canned food, so they're super simple to administer. If you're the type of person who values your quiet time, stop in and meet Piper! You'll never have a better companion to relax and enjoy peaceful days with. The adoption fee of $50 includes the spay/neuter, distemper vaccine, Rabies vaccine, deworming, FELV/FIV testing, flea and heartworm preventative, and a microchip. Often there is very little known about our cats and kittens history or even current habits. Expect a 10+ year financial, physical, and emotional commitment to this feline. We provide a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this. All cats and especially kittens are a lot of work and a long financial commitment. Please research what it means to have a cat and make sure a cat is still going to be an important part of your life in 10-15 years. All cats and kittens need a lot of patience and guidance. Most cats who are in shelters will need an adjustment period after adoption. No matter how nice our shelter is and how much attention they get from our volunteers, it is not a home and they will need time to acclimate and get rid of some nervous energy.
