Hi, my name is Philana and I am a dilute torbie female kitten. Not every one is familar with Torbies. We are super special because we are a mix of Tortoiseshell and Tabby cats. I was born on February 28, 2023. I was were owner drop off at the shelter. Our owners could not afford my medical care. The shelter called Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue and I was put into foster care the very next day. Philana and her littermates are positive for Feline Leukemia Virus, or FeLV, is an autoimmune disease that weakens a cat’s immune system increasing their risk for more secondary illnesses such as Feline Upper Respiratory Infection. FeLV is contagious to other cats and ror this reason, it is not recommended for FeLV+ cats to live with cats that do not have the virus. There is no cure for FeLV and cats that have the virus will have it for life. Most cats with FeLV live a happy life. There life may be shorter 4 to 11 years on avrage. Because FeLV+ is contagious, cats are euthanized at shelters across the country every day. We have a special room for these cats and 7 total are in need of a home. We believe these kitties would be perfect for someone is seeking an older cat due to life expectancy. Come meet these sweet hearts.
