My Story

*To meet or adopt Persephone, please submit a Q&A for her at https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt! We are not able to reply to DMs, emails or inquiries made through 3rd party pet adoption websites. *Get to know Persephone on Instagram at @goodhome_lincolnfosters! *Age: young, approximately 1 year old as of 6/15/2024 *Temperament: playful, affectionate, sweet, curious An eagle-eyed employee of excellent local pie shop @birdsblack noticed a mother & kittens in a parking lot in Jersey City. Persephone was part of the trapping project. We didn't know if she was feral so we took her to the A to be spayed not knowing whether she would ultimately come inside or be returned. However, she turned out to be an absolute doll, so we placed her in foster care with @goodhome_lincolnfosters, and now she's ready for her forever home! Persephone is a sweet, curious, little cat who loves attention. When she first came inside, she was understandably shy and hid for a few days. With the help of lots of yummy treats, she began warming up to her foster mom. Now, she loves being brushed and getting ear scratches. She also loves exploring the apartment, always finding new little corners -- her favorite spot is right in front of the air conditioner. Since she was rescued off the street shortly before coming into foster care, it's likely that she'd never seen cat toys like the fishing rod with a jingly feather. She was a little wary at first, but now she chases, hunts and pounces like a pro! To meet or adopt Persephone, please submit a Q&A for her on our website: https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt! ------- GOOD HOME is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, SNAP tested and microchipped. Our adoption process includes an application, a friendly conversation, a quick home check, a contract and an adoption fee of $250 per cat (which helps us cover veterinary care) and $150 for seniors or cats with manageable illnesses. The fee is $25 for FeLV+ or cats that require especially high levels of ongoing care.
