My Story

Peanut is one of 14 cats that suddenly lost their owner in July, leaving a huge void in her life. Peanut was rescued as a kitten by a quirky but special man who rescued dozens of cats in his lifetime and took them into his home. The man was well known throughout Jefferson county and beyond as "Coach." He never married and lived "alone" in the house he grew up in with over a dozen cats that he fondly referred to as his "children". We gather Peanut started out small but she's a big girl now! She is gentle and sweet and once you pick her up she will curl up into your lap. She is a bit timid right now as she has left the only home she knew for the last 7 years. She misses her other siblings, her home, and the man who loved her and kept her safe. Peanut can often be caught snuggling up to her big brother, Rudy. Maybe she could snuggle up to you too? Recent blood work shows that Peanut is in relatively good health, besides being a little "chunky." We need to find a special home for her and the boys - we promised Coach we would take good care of each of his children. Come by and meet Peanut and Coach's other cats. Coach is counting on us to find his babiies a new home. Can we count on you? Adopt two of Coach's cats together and pay only one adoption fee! All cats adopted through To The ResQ will be spayed/neutered, updated on rabies and distemper vaccinations, combo-tested and microchipped prior to adoption.
