My Story

Named for her extraordinary set of pipes ?? -after the one and only Patsy Cline, our once vocal little Patsy came to us after being abandoned here with her two tiny kittens on a chilly Fall morning ?. As soon as we got them cozy and settled in, Patsy was quick to show her gratitude with head butts and pretty little ditties of which we can only assume centered on meal time and the need for head pats! But soon enough, Patsy changed her tune- as we noticed a certain urgency in her new melodies, and that’s when we learned that Patsy was done with nursing and needed some SPACE- and needed it now! We get it, mama! After being cooped up with her kittens for months, and after who knows how many litters ?, Patsy was done being pawed and scaled by her two rambunctious children- and she made it unequivocally clear that if they got near her, a certain number of paws would be thrown ?. We’re not saying we haven’t seen a momma cat with such obvious disdain for her offspring, but we’re not not saying it either ?. Aside from this peculiarity (and just preferring to be an only-cat altogether), Patsy is a love-bug ?, and loves to be the center of attention, an arm’s length away from her human at any given time. Patsy loves forehead to forehead time, and would be content to have either your lap or nearby perch to pass the day away! Don’t keep this gal a walkin’ after midnight ?searchin’ for you- help her learn there is more to croon about than love lost. Patsy is spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and Heartworm/FeLV/FiV tested ! You can’t tell from this stunning picture, but Patsy does deal with frequent flare-ups of feline herpesvirus- mostly affecting her eyes and causing drainage. Patsy puts up minimal resistance when administering eye drops, and has done well with routine doses of an Idoxuridine eye drop! We hope that keeping her on this routine for a bit + being in a home of her own away from the stress of the shelter will help these flare-ups to become less and less frequent-and hopefully subside altogether one day! She also loves and benefits greatly from the Purina Calming Care Probiotic as well as Lysine powder added to her kibble!
