My Story

*** Paloma is at the Petco Mira Mesa adoption center *** Black w/white undercoat (smoke), short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/15/23, #18937 Cats: must be an only-kitty Dog: no thanks! Children: adores older, gentle kids! While driving on the 805 Freeway, a caring human witnessed the most frightening sight... a cat was hit by a car! She safely pulled over, scooped up Paloma and rushed her to a veterinary hospital in El Cajon. The vet assessed her condition: fractured pelvis, abrasion and abscess on her chin, oh and she's pregnant! During her stay in the hospital, Paloma gave birth to four beautiful babies. Once Paloma was well enough, the precious family moved into foster care where they all thrived! With her babes ready for their own adventures and having received the all-clear from the vet, Paloma is eager to move in with her forever family! This inspirational kitty is as loving as she is resilient! She has not let the hardships sour her sweet soul. Even though she is a young feline, she is not particularly playful. Paloma is a quiet, elegant queen who would rather sit on her throne (AKA your lap). She adores being held and petted, especially around her face and head. Our lady of leisure will reward you with warm headbutts and soothing purrs. Exploring a tunnel or lounging near a window is Paloma's idea of a fabulous afternoon. An inquisitive girl, she loves observing the world around her. At Petco, she likes to sneak a peak on her neighbors, the chinchillas. According to her, they are simply fascinating! Did you notice Paloma's unique fur? Only the tips of her hair are black and the roots are white! This is called a smoke coat. Paloma needs to be an only pet. While she has been exposed to other cats, she is not interested in sharing your affections with another of her own kind. She has experienced dogs and is not a fan. Any dog that tries to befriend her will be sadly heartbroken when she expresses her opinions of them. As for children, the younger sort might be overwhelming for her. She adores the older kiddos and will happily accept all the attention that gentle, cat-savvy kids want to lavish on her! Overcoming hardships with love and hope in her heart, Paloma is an amazing kitty who deserves an equally wonderful family. Are you the one to keep her safe and cherish her for always?
