My Story

Where do we begin with Oreo's story. She was a stray that as far as we know had given birth to at least two litters. A lovely young girl trapped Oreo's first kittens (Meadow (adopted), Maggie, Cheetoh and Bart - who are on our site and available for adoption). Before Oreo could be trapped, she gave birth to three more kittens (Gracie, Hot Dog and Swirly - available shortly). We had issues trying to trap and secure the three kittens and Oreo. Sadly the house where they were living, were not very cooperative or supportive with our mission. They had one point actually put chicken wire over the deck where the kittens were. Oreo was so upset as she could not get to the kittens to feed them and the kittens had no way out. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to involve PAWS and the police. Finally, we were able to secure Oreo and her three kittens. Oreo has been spayed and her motherly duties are now over. She will never have to worry about having another litter of kittens. She is adjusting slowly to being indoors and living the good life. Here is what the foster home has to say about this lovely girl: She is quiet and doesn't like to play with toys but does enjoy being around humans at a distance. The only toy she has played with so far is a toy banana filled with cat nip. She likes cats and would definitely do well in a home where there is another cat that will be nice to her and groom her. She likes giving head rubs to other cats and asks to be cleaned. She is very vocal when it is feeding time and is very open to being pet as much as she needs in order to get food. Oreo will need an adopter who will be patient and give her the time to adapt to her new environment. Contact us [email protected]
