My Story

Update: Opal has had many admirerers but we made the choice to place her closer to home because we felt it would be in her best interests not to travel too far. She is a lucky little feline because of her foster Julian and her new loving parents are just amazing... she will certainly a ba a loved and pampered pet!

Lady Opal is a blue lynx-point Himalayan about two years old with beautiful blue eyes. ("Lynx-point" refers to the Persian "W" pattern on the forehead, as opposed to regular blue-points that lack that pattern).

At first she was very shy and hid whenever someone entered her foster home. But now she has come out of her shell and greets visitors at the door, with a bit of hesitation on occasion. She's very affectionate, always napping close by and treating you with rubbing and purring and a wide assortment of mrrrps and squeaks and other interesting gentle sounds. She often picks up her feather-toy and carries it to you when she wants to play. But her shy nature means that she might take a couple of weeks to adapt to a new home, so a patient parent would be preferred.

Please note that Opal has been four-paw declawed, and therefore can't groom herself very well, especially around the neck and front shoulders (where we've had to shave her just a little bit). She will rely on you to keep her soft and silky fur smooth and tangle-free, and will happily do her part in washing herself constantly to stay nice and fluffy for you. She is presently being fostered in the same home as Fritz (the kitten in the third photo).
