My Story

Nutmeg is number 3 in the picture. She is a gorgeous Seal Point Siamese female, about 7-8 weeks old.

Who We Are:

We are a not-for-profit organization who is committed to helping Siamese and Long-Haired Breed cats (Ragdolls and Maine Coons primarily, though we do accept other long-haired breeds). All of our expenses are funded by personal and private donations. All of our cats are kept in foster homes - please note, we do not have a shelter facility, so appointments must be made prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered (if of age), FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption. If the kitten is not of an age to be spayed/neutered, a $75 fully refundable spay deposit is also due. This deposit will be refunded when proof of spay/neuter is provided.

Adoption Process:

We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you email us, we will provide you with an application - either by email or by mail.

Adoption Fees:

Our adoption fees are as follows: adults $150 and kittens $100. We occasionally have reduced fees - these will be noted on the individual cat's listing. If someone adopts more then one cat from us, we will reduce the adoption fees by $25. The adoption fees help defray SOME of the costs associated with rescuing/fostering these kitties. Please note: if someone places a deposit on a cat/kitten to "hold" them until they are ready to go home, and the person changes his or her mind, the deposit is non-refundable - it is only refundable if the cat/kitten become unadoptable for some reason.

Out of state adoption:

Merlin's Hope does out-of-state adoptions on a case-by-case basis. We prefer in-state adoptions but we do consider out-of-state adoptions IF the adopter is willing to drive/fly to Ennis, makes all travel arrangements, and pays all expenses associated with travel.

Donations are always welcome! Please see Merlin's Hope Cat Rescue home-page for needed items.
