Merci de votre collaboration! NEWBIE # 9411 Mâle, Adulte, Stérilisé, Vermifugé, Vacciné et Micropucé NEWBIE est un beau gaillard gris & blanc au regard rempli d'une grande tristesse. Il avait été abandonné à l'extérieur et laissé à lui-même depuis quelques mois lorsque son humain est devenu gravement malade. Le pauvre garçon a heureusement été rescapé d’une vie de misère à la fin mai par une gentille voisine qui l'a vu errer tristement et qui voulait l'aider. Âgé d'environ 4 ans, NEWBIE est un gros chat (environ 20 lbs/9 kg) qui est en bonne santé mais qui devra perdre un peu de poids pour assurer sa longévité. Il a testé positif au FIV - virus de l'immunodéficience féline, sûrement contracté lors de son séjour à l'extérieur puisque nous avons constaté des blessures infligées par d'autres chats sur lui. Notez qu'un chat atteint du FIV a une espérance de vie similaire à un chat qui n’est pas infecté. Par contre, ayant un système immunitaire plus faible, il est important de s’assurer que les vaccins soient à jour, qu'il mange une nourriture de qualité, de ne pas l’exposer à des maladies infectieuses (i.e. le garder à l'intérieur) et qu’il vive dans un environnement peu stressant. NEWBIE est un chat doux, tolérant et pacifique. Notre félin dodu a un tempérament très aimable. Il a un côté tendre et affectueux alors qu'il accepte volontiers les caresses et les gratouilles derrière les oreilles. NEWBIE apprécie énormément les câlins surtout s'ils sont accompagnés de quelques délicieuses gâteries. Notre brave garçon sera heureux de contempler la nature par la fenêtre. Peu actif et grand dormeur, il aime faire de longues siestes sur un coussin moelleux ou caché sous les couvertures mais peut être assez enjoué à ses heures alors qu'il s'amuse beaucoup avec ses jouets :) NEWBIE a besoin d'un foyer accueillant et chaleureux; c'est un minet facile à vivre et peu demandant. Cependant, il aura besoin de quelques jours pour s'adapter à sa nouvelle famille et son nouvel environnement ; soyez indulgent avec lui s'il est un peu grognon les premiers temps. Nous recommandons un foyer sans enfants en bas de 10 ans, car monsieur n'apprécie pas se sentir constamment envahi ou touché alors qu'il ne veut pas. NEWBIE s'accomodera parfaitement bien à être le seul animal de la maisonnée en autant que vous lui donnez beaucoup d'amour et de caresses. Toutefois, si vous avez déjà un chat ou un chien dans la maisonnée, SVP prévoir une période d'intégration à NEWBIE afin de minimiser les situations stressantes. NEWBIE est vraiment attendrissant et a encore de bonnes années devant lui. Nous espérons lui trouver une famille au grand coeur qui lui donnera la chance de connaître le bonheur et une vie paisible. NEWBIE # 9411 Male, Adult, Sterilized, Dewormed, Vaccinated & Microchipped NEWBIE is a handsome grey & white kitty with the kindest but also the saddest eyes. He was abandoned outdoors and left to fend for himself for several months when his human became critically ill. This poor boy was thankfully saved from a miserable life at the end of May by a nice neighbor who saw him and decided to help him. NEWBIE is approximately 4 years old and a big cat (about 20 pounds/9 kg) who is in good health but who will need to lose some weight to ensure a long life. He tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) that he probably contracted while he was a stray outdoors, as we noticed some wounds inflicted by other cats. Please note that a cat with FIV has a similar life expectancy to other cats who are not infected. However, having a weaker immune system, it is important to ensure that he is kept up to date with his vaccination, that he eat good quality food, avoid exposing him to infectious diseases (keep him indoors) and to provide him a stress free environment. NEWBIE is a gentle, tolerant and peaceful soul...this gentleman shows no signs of agression towards humans or other cats. Our plump feline has a very amiable temperament. With such a tender and affectionate nature, he enjoys being petted and scratched behind the ears. NEWBIE loves cuddles especially if they are accompanied by a few delicious cat treats. Our brave boy will be happy to observe nature through the window. Somewhat lazy and a big sleeper, he loves to take long naps on a soft cushion or hidden under the covers. He does remain quite playful at times, and has a lot of fun playing with his toys :) NEWBIE needs a welcoming and caring home ; he's a very easygoing and undemanding fellow. He will however need a few days to fully adapt to his new family & home. Please be patient with him if he seems a bit grumpy while he adjusts. We recommend a family without children younger than 10 years old as he doesn't appreciate constantly feeling crowded or being touched when he doesn't want to. NEWBIE would be perfectly content to be the only animal in the house as long as he is given lots of love and cuddles. Should you already have another cat or dog, please plan for an integration period for NEWBIE to avoid stressful situations. NEWBIE is such an endearing kitty who has many good years left to ahead of him.
