**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens** Greetings! Neelix here, thinking maybe I should tell you a bit about myself so you can get to know me better. I was rescued from the back lot of a Chrysler dealership with my brother Riker and sister Troi one cold day in February, and placed in a foster home to learn how to live indoors with humans. You can see from the photo that we had no idea how to handle the change at first, and just huddled in the sink in a scared pile fearing the worst. But all that fear turned out to be completely unnecessary, as the humans offered us nothing but treats, yummy food, toys and love from day one! We were so astonished by this windfall we didn’t know how to respond. Good thing our sister Troi was the bravest and open to engage with the nice people, and gradually we became much more comfortable with human presence and all the good things they bring, and accepted the fact that people are really our best friends. However, it was not until Riker and Troi were relocated to an adoption centre to get more exposure to other cats and people, but most importantly, potential forever families who will take them home, that I was left behind because I was still too timid and skittish to graduate to the big leagues. But you know what? Instead of withdrawing into myself, I decided now it’s my time to shine and show off the handsome, loving and sweet cat I really am! You can see the video clips of me cowering from human touch in the beginning, to the happy, hand-nudging and cheek-scrubbing me today! Plus I am learning to fetch ball toys!! I tell you, I can’t believe I was so scared, and for no good reason! Well, those days are behind me now, and I truly look forward to having my own family to love, play and cuddle with! I am hoping a patient, understanding and loving family will take me into their home, where other young, social and friendly cats are eager to be my buddy. I can assure you I will do my very best to keep growing into the confident cat I know I am. If you move slowly and gently, I will be all over you begging for as many pets and head butts as you can give! Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, first-round of age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption, flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping. Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator. All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it’s twice the fun for you, and half the work!
