My Story

Kitten for adoption in Hickory, NC, can drive up to four hours! This is Napoleon and he's got an interesting story! He was given to a girl by a stranger, they simply handed her the kitten and her parents' wouldn't let her keep him, she took him to a colony whose caretaker we know and he called us (my mother and I have been doing rescue work for almost a decade). The kitten was a little boy, only 2 pounds. When the vet checked him she confirmed he was 4 or five months old, which meant he was half or less of the weight he should've been! He had a stomach issue, he couldn't keep any food in, and no matter what he ate it made it worse. But a week with us and some proper meds and he put on over a pound! Now he's up to 4 pounds, his fur is silky and healthy, and he's energetic and loving! He has IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), which is now mostly controlled, but *will effect him for the rest of his life.* Because of this we need an adopter with vet references and that will consent to an in home visit, we have done in home visits with other adopters and I can direct you to them if you wish to ask them about it! He is so sweet, he has such long soft fur, he loves to be petted, and he has a big personality! I think he's worth any extra effort to care for. I have some cats with IBS myself and I wouldn't trade them for anything. He won't be adoptable right this second but I'm taking applications! We are getting his vaccines and neuter done before we adopt him out, and are making sure his IBS is as controlled as possible. We will donate some of the prescription EN food by Purina to his new family, but you will have to get a prescription yourself! He can also eat dry food but the EN food is a necessary part of his diet! He has no parasites or fleas! There will be a fairly small rehoming fee for his safety! We have rescue references if needed. Message me if you're interested!
