My Story

Please check here for updated adoption hours. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. Nala is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. She is very apprehensive of people and will hiss & growl to communicate her desire to avoid human interaction. It is difficult to predict if she will respond to socialization and we are unsure if she will thrive in a human home environment. We recommend all attempts to socialize this cat before placing her into a human home, however please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. A volunteer writes: Bouncing to the front of her condo with some cheerful meows, Nala saw the open door as an invitation to walk out and onto my lap. We'd only just met but Nala declared us friends and extended her now signature shelter tour invite. Nuzzling my hands as she peered into her neighbors' condos, Nala gave me a who's who in Adoptions while softly cuddling. Her multitasking is an absolute joy and I know that this is a notably big step from where Nala was when she first arrived. Nala is here because her person passed away and her adjustment to shelter life has come in large part due to patience, understanding, and a whole lot of kitty work. We are so proud and happy to see Nala's progress. She likes to learn and loves opportunities where she can take the lead. Nala is hoping to find a forever family who knows that the kitties who need a little extra time are always worth it. Primary Color: Gray Secondary Color: White Weight: 7.94lbs Age: 4yrs 2mths 2wks
