Mowgli

Mowgli is part of the Kitty Keeper program! Mowgli transferred to us from Cobb County Animal Services with several other cats. He is a super sweet, friendly and social cat that was quickly loved by staff, volunteers and visitors. When he first came to us, he had a very significant head tilt. On examination, he was found to have an abnormality in his left ear canal which was suspicious for a polyp which was later confirmed and removed by video otoscope in early May 2022. This is a benign growth with a small chance of coming back. His head tilt is still present but may continue to improve. Mowgli also has a heart murmur, bus his echocardiogram was normal and there's no evidence of heart disease. Mowgli does sometimes start a scuffle with another kitty, but he's come along way with being a good citizen since arriving and now likes playing with other kitties - sort of. Mowgli basically has two modes: sleepy (you can pet him a few times); and feisty, when he runs around the shelter asserting his dominance by doing bluff-charges (essentially 'bucking' at the other cats.) His fast tail-flicking, and huffing sounds he makes are good indications he is on the prowl, and humans and cats alike should steer clear. He doesn't tend to actually fight, but he wants everyone to know he's Top Dog and to not mess with him. He may enjoy his own home with a family to keep him entertained or calm housemates that don't mind him being a bit of an "alpha", but are still up for a good time!
