Hi there, my name is Moo!
I was found as a stray in a peculiar spot - as in, no other strays were around in this area. It is thought an unkind person may have dumped me or relocated me from somewhere else. I found some very kind people who put food and water out for me all summer. Then as the seasons changed, they were worried what would happen to me over the winter. So, they had me neutered and vaccinated and found a rescue to take me! I am estimated to be between 4 - 5 years old.
It was a really rough adjustment at first coming to the rescue. People had not been very kind to me, so I was unsure about trusting anyone. I was a little hissy, I growled, and sometimes swatted at my foster mom. She was kind enough to give me space. But once I learned she was a nice lady who was going to feed me and give me treats, I thought I would give her a chance.
I use open top and hooded litterboxes. My favorite thing to eat is Iams Urinary Care dry food with a little bit of wet food on top. My favorite treats are Friskies Party Mix and I am a sucker for the Beachside Crunch flavor! I spend my time cuddling up to my feline foster siblings - I really love having other cats around! I also like to sunbathe or lay on the windowsill and watch the people and cars go by. Sometimes I get a little playful and you can get me chasing after a wand toy. But I am really a laidback guy!
I have never met a dog, so I don't know how I would feel about them. I definitely wouldn't want to live with a young, energetic dog. And would prefer the company of another laidback cat/cats, preferably a male cat. But I also live with two little girls - aged 8 and 10 - and they are very good with how to handle me. They sit on the floor and let me come to them for pets.
Sudden movements and loud noises scare me, especially as I adjust to a new home. So I may hide for a little. Especially if you get out that darn vacuum. Those things are terrifying! But I retreat to the lower hideout of my cat tree and wait for things to settle down before popping back out again. It would be best to keep me in my own room or a bathroom the first few weeks so I can take my time to get to know you and my new surroundings.
I am looking for a laidback home, where someone is willing to give me the time to adjust to my new surroundings. Once I do, I will gladly come up to you for pets and love. I just have some trauma in my past that makes it hard for me to trust people. But once I learn you are a friend...who will feed me...I come around rather quickly! And boy do I love to have the backs of my ears scratched. And my neck. And being pet down my back to my nail. I will stand on my tippy toes while you give me a good pet!
If you are willing to take a chance on a guy like me, please contact my rescue to ask questions or set up a meet and greet! [email protected]
