My Story

I'm a sweet boy who was born in August 2020 on the street along with my 3 brothers. A nice rescue lady picked us all up one day in early September and took us to safety (and went back to help my feral mom get spayed too!). I was adopted out with one of my brothers who looks a lot like me, named Shamu, when we were around 3 months old. Everything was going well, but the new adopter kept on taking us to the vet and letting the vet give us all of these shots we already had or didn't need, or were too young for. As a result, we both got really sick and the adopter gave us back in early January 2021 and didn't even want to help us! The original rescue lady took us back into her home, which was so crowded and we had to live in a cage for a little bit. I was NOT happy about this. At first, I was doing okay healthwise, but within a couple of weeks, I got really sick again from the existing illness I got and almost died! The hospital didn't even think I deserved to live and the rescue mom had to fight for me to get the help I needed. Five hospitalizations later, I survived and made a full recovery. To this day, no one really knows what my reaction to those shots was, but whatever it was, I was totally fine within a few months of treatment and have remained healthy. Since I was on steroids for months, it unfortunately affected how handsome I was. My fur got kind of thin and I lost my "mojo" a little as a result. So I'm not as pretty and robust as I used to be, but I'm still so cute and such a sweet, sweet boy, that I'm sure you can easily overlook my thin fur. I'm still a cute boy no matter what. I've been stuck in the rescue lady's home for over two years now since we were returned. She was so paranoid about my overall health that she delayed getting me a new home because she wanted to make sure that I was fine and that I wouldn't get sick again. But it has been over two years since all of that happened, and I've never been sick since then, and I've been checked out by a few doctors, and they all agree that I am healthy and can move on and find a home of my own. So it's definitely time! I am a very easy going boy. I would love to have space to play with toys because I have no room to play where I am now because it's so crowded with cats. I would love to be on the bed with you, and I love high perches, like a kitty shelf or a cat tree. I also love mealtime and am very food motivated. It's now mid 2023, and I feel like my time to shine is finally here! So let's shine together and send in your adoption application today!
