My Story

Boogie and Mittens have an incredible backstory that is bound to make anyone fall for them! Boogie is an incredibly special little boy. He's a spunky, affectionate little silver tabby with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Brought into a clinic by a Good Samaritan when he was just a few weeks old, friendly little Boogie had a pretty bad URI and a wobbly head. After being examined, neurological conditions were ruled out and it was clear that he had CH. Just a little while after, another kitten about a week older than Boogie was brought into the clinic also with URI symptoms- Mittens! Unlike Boogie, Mittens was quite shy and reserved, scared to interact with people, but full of so much potential. We were lucky enough to have a foster family available to work with Boogie's CH, socialize Mittens, and administer antibiotics to the both of them. After recovering from their URIs, Boogie and Mittens started uplifting each other in the best way possible. Boogie's CH made it difficult for him to find the litter box at first, but Mittens would lead the way for her brother. Mittens slowly started opening up to her foster humans with Boogie's encouragement. They are now inseparable and love meeting new people! Although Boogie has a bobble head, this doesn't stop him from doing all the things any typical kitten would do. He likes to play with catnip toys, fight with Mittens, and use his scratcher. He's not able to jump from heights that are too high, but he does like to climb onto surfaces close to the ground (e.g. his scratcher). His litter box usage is much better now with accidents outside of the box being quite rare. A high walled litter box without too much free roaming space has worked best for him. Boogie and Mittens have been dewormed, treated for fleas, and vaccinated. They will be getting spayed and neutered soon. This precious duo is all ready to find their forever home!
