My Story

When Misty's Mom passed before Christmas, her approaching Golden Years suddenly didnt look so golden. Lucky for Misty, UnderdogPetRescue stepped in and she got her golden ticket to WI. Misty was pretty scared by the time she got here, but time has proven her to be an excellent companion, particularly fond of lap time. Almost every day she trusts me a little more. Her fear has shown itself in hiding, have never seen any aggression. She so badly wants the loves, when first warming up to me she would come a little closer, then retreat, approach a little and retreat, until she finally made it, then made it on my lap, then I could touch her etc. A big win lately is that I can sneeze, or my husband can enter the room and she stays relaxed on my lap!! I can now rub her paws, sometimes her chest, and she has started purring regularly. BIG news - she met my big dog (dog was kept calm), and while cautious and alert, she circled a couple times and sniffed, before retreating calmly back to her "safe" room. Misty does like to play, a little, her favorite play is layingin my lap playing with sweatshirt strings! Quiet wire toys are fun too, and when alone she plays with roly toys on the floor. Catnip toys are a winner, and favorite is her "emotional support pickle" lol Misty age is noted to be 8yrs, who knows, the longer shes here tho, the more she has relaxed and seemed un-senior-ish. In case she was 8, a full blood panel work up was done and she checked all the "healthy cat" boxes! We're not sure what happend to her teeth, (she has 3 remaining), but it was a while ago, and her gums are quiet/healthy. She eats kibble just fine. Misty will do well in a calm home, with places to hide while she learns she is safe. Patience with this will payoff!!! Apply today to be this sweetheart's new best friend!
