My Story

Miss May: a sweet but shy little lady needing time to come out of her shell little Miss May's story: I was frequenting a neighborhood in Clinton MA, for three years. A kind soul was feeding me, and one day I showed up with a severely injured tail. My feeder quickly jumped into action and contacted a vet who put her in touch with Firchburg Friends or Felines. Once in their care I was brought straight to the hospital were my injures were assessed to be severe enough that I would need a tail amputation. They were able to save part of my tail and I got a dental to boot! Considering my history, I am not mean or aggressive, just scared and unsure. Although, admittedly, I look like a grumpy when I smile for the camera. I used to go up to my feeder for treats... which took me 3 years to get to that point. When everyone started touching me, I got a bit more comfortable around people, but I am not yet a lap cat! It took me 3 months to come out of hiding for food with my new foster, although I do greet her with a hiss on occasion. She can say what she wants about me. I am not phased. I am also deaf. On the plus side, I cannot hear myself snore... which... I do... and I can be a great confidant since I can’t hear a word you’re saying, anything you say stays just between us! My ideal home would be with a seasoned cat person who is patient and understanding with me. I would prefer a home with no kids as they would be a bit too unpredictable for me. I need a couple places/hideouts I can go to when I need a break, or I will find my own under a bed. It would be great if my foster would do a gradual integration, to get me used to them so we can build a relationship together. I just need time and love, and I will come around.
