My Story

Milo is a very handsome male Persian cat with large orange eyes and a beautiful floofy coat! We rescued Milo with our International Rescue partners in the Middle East (Cairo, Egypt). Milo has a mysterious past and we just know he was found on the streets, likely left behind by his original owners. Milo and his friends took a long flight to get the care they need and to find a "purrrrever" home in the USA! We don't know Milo's exact age but we believe he is between 5-7 years old. Milo is sweet, affectionate, chatty, and playful boy! He does not know he is no longer a kitten and loves to get the "zoomies" and plays chase with the other kitties in active play. What we love most about Milo is his beautiful fluffy tale and the way he meows hello to everyone! Milo gets along well with other cats and has been living with his friends who travelled to the USA aside him. He and Marshmallow have been together exclusively since arrival. At this time we are willing to separate the two cats but if someone would be willing to adopt Milo and Marshmallow together that would be ideal. Milo saw our vet a few weeks following his arrival from Cairo, Egypt. Based upon the findings at the exam, Milo’s adoption will be delayed. First, he will need a dental cleaning with likely several extractions which we plan to have done over the next few weeks. Through the extensive blood work we had done during his exam, we also learned that he is at the beginning stages of chronic kidney disease. This is a common condition in cats as they age... it is NOT Polycystic Kidney Disease which is a high risk condition Persian cats can inherit. At this time Milo's kidney condition can be managed with diet, mainly a low phosphorous foods (Rx or non-Rx) plus supplements that help the kidneys function better. He should be monitored routinely by a veterinarian and the adopter should be willing to continue to manage this condition for Milo. If you are interested in adopting Milo you must submit an adoption application to be considered, please submit this here; https://savingfancycats.org/adoption-application We are a small, volunteer run organization. We will only respond to inquiries about our cats for adoption once an application has been submitted as we have limited staff and limited time. We do need 3-5 days to review all applications and will respond to those we believe make the best match to the cat. Once you apply, please check your spam/junk folders as many times our response is flagged.
