"Hi- My name's Melvin and here's my story. The vet said I'm about 3 years old or so. I've been a street cat for my entire life and had to fight just to survive. When a new couple moved into my area, they started to put food out to feed my colony. I had to fend off raccoons and other animals to make sure my colony was fed. The human couple earned my trust when they started to rescue the pregnant females and continued to keep us well fed. PS I REALLY like the wet food! They even built me a shelter over the winter and kept it on their porch. To show my appreciation, come spring time, I let them pet me for the first time! The human couple took me in and took me to the vet who had to shave my matted fur and give me some shots because I was sick. I'm doing much better now and show my appreciation by snuggling near them and asking for some gentle pets on the head. The humans became my foster parents and gave me a nickname of Melvin Moo Moo and The Moo. Even though I love my foster parents, I know my fur-ever home is still waiting for me. My ideal home would be either a single pet house or at least no males, lots of attention and no small children. I would do best in a calmer home too. Please note, fosters do get final approval for any adoption as they are most familiar with the personalities of their foster kittens and cats. Kitten Angels is a non profit, volunteer organization. We rely solely on fostering, volunteers, donations, and adoption fees. An adoption fee of $175.00 must be paid at the time of adoption by either cash or check. All of our adoptable animals are assessed in foster homes, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet.
