She is 5 months old and a little shy at first but is very curious and will follow you to see if you are going to do something interesting, so you can quickly win her over. As soon as she feels comfortable, it will be no time at all before she is your best friend!
If you have another cat that she can follow and be friends with that would be best to help her come out of her shell, also.

Remember...never use your hands or feet to play with a cat or kitten....always use a toy. If you play using your hands, fingers or feet, you are actually training him/her to bite and scratch people.
Be sure to teach your kitten while young to have his/her nails trimmed, to be gently brushed and to use a scratching post.
