Meet Marshmallow! Marshmallow is a handsome 6 year old, Siamese mix with beautiful blue eyes. He is a big boy that weighs in at a healthy 15 pounds. He is a precious love bug! He loves to get scritches on his head and under his chin. He loves pate canned food. (He no longer eats dry food unless it's Purina DM,) He has a positive, calm, easy-going, go with the flow attitude despite all he has been through, and would be a great companion animal for the right person.
Marshmallow has had a very hard life up until now, He was obviously dumped and wandered a person's property for at least a year pleading for help. He was frightened and wanted so badly to come inside and be part of a family, like he once was. He never left the property for an entire year, apparently trying to convince the couple to let him inside. Marshmallow slept on their porch furniture, got excited when he saw the people outside and ran to follow them. Heoften tried to get into their home through the garage. He was frightened, but they would not allow him inside. It wasn't until his front paws were painful, swollen, and bleeding for a period of 4 months that they finally contacted us for help.
Once in our care, he was immediately taken to the vet and it was found that this sweet boy had a very hard and difficult life. Not only were his front paws painful and bleeding and the worst case of Pillow Foot that our vet had ever seen in her 30 years of practice, but he had a lot of broken teeth, possibly from abuse/blunt-force trauma. After a lot of tender, loving care, within a month, Marshmallow's paws healed completely. Because of steriod injections to heal his feet, he developed diabetes, **BUT** no longer has diabetes per our vet and has been diabetes free for 7 months. Marshmallow is very healthy and is ready for his own home. He gets along well with other cats.
Marshmallow is FIV+ .Being FIV+, is no longer a big deal. Many cats go on to lead long, healthy lives and, as you can see, Marshmallow has recovered quickly and extremely well (unheard of) from Pillow foot. , Marshmallow can only eat canned food - and only a particulatr brand of kibble. His diet is mosty canned food and a small amount of Purina DM kibble, as it is low in carbs.
Marshmallow is neutered, had his rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His perfect home would be a low activity, quiet home with either no children or children over the age of 10.
