Marcela has quite the story! She was originally brought into the shelter in April of 2020 with her brothers and sisters at only 3 weeks old. She was the cutest baby ever! We still have her kitten photo linked to her account in our Shelter Manager. She was quickly adopted as soon as she was big enough to leave a few months later. Unfortunately, we got a call in June of this year that Marcela had been taken to another shelter in a different town to be surrendered. Thankfully, we microchip every pet that leaves so when they found the microchip - they called us right away. Of course we remembered her, and we always want our pets back. Our Director went that same day to pick her up and bring her back to be with us. Her owner was a senior and was going through some health issues and was no longer able to care for her - which we completely understand. What should have been her long, beautiful coat was nothing but a mat of thick hair all around her body. She was also incredibly overweight, so we are working on that. We had Wayside Vet Clinic do her intake and shave her down to start fresh. Once her hair grows back she will be medium to long haired and need brushed daily. So, she is a higher maintenance cat. She may even need to see a groomer. She looks upset in her photos, but she is not. She is super sweet and eagerly wants your attention. She lived as an only pet these last 4 years, so we aren't quite sure how she would do with other animals. Please inquire for an application on this link or email [email protected].
