Whether she's happily greeting you at the door or in total snuggle-mode, Makaela is always showing off her own special brand of sweetness. She is the most affectionate buddy and will follow you around just to let you know that she's there and wants a little extra chin scratch from you. Makaela is a loving lap kitty through and through, and would be a great companion for someone who loves to get cozy on the couch for movie night or with a good book. But it might be a little hard to focus on that book with how loud her adorable purrs are! Not to mention how much she loves to give you grooming kisses when she's happy. Makaela is spunky and super capable, so it can be hard to believe that she is blind. Although she doesn't have her sight, she certainly has her confidence! She loves to say hi to new people and is able to adapt to new spaces with enthusiasm, given some time to adjust. Because she is blind, this lovely lady would be happiest in a calm household with humans who are teens and older, and would love to be the only pet in her new home. Makaela has a medical condition called chronic kidney disease, with secondary hypertension (high blood pressure) that caused her loss of vision. She also has a mild heart murmur. This just means that she will need a kidney-friendly prescription diet and daily blood pressure medication. Although she's super capable, she should stay away from stairs because of her blindness.
