Lilac Brooke

Lilac Brooke was born on the first of February in a warm, safe home where her mom had been placed just in time to give birth during an unseasonably cold winter spell. This little girl has never known what street life is like but is naturally reserved and cautious. Lilac Brooke takes her time getting to know new people and situations. She will thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can be herself without others' expectations being placed on her little shoulders. Good days are days when nothing unexpected happens, and Lilac can go from one routine to another without disruption. She will need an experienced adopter who understands and respects her uniqueness. We don't DNA test our kitties, but we think she looks like he could be a Maine coon-type mix. Most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Lilac falls into that category as well. Either way, we know she's 100% cute! Lilac Borooke is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. She is litter-box trained and uses cat trees and scratching posts appropriately. If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications on this pet. Please read the Adoption Process steps below. Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.
