Lichen

Meet Lichen! Lichen came to us along with her buddy Toby after their owner sadly passed away. Lichen's original name was actually Chicken, but we had just taken in another cat named Chicken Nugget the week before, so had to change it to something that sounded similar. (Obviously her future adopter can go back to her henhouse roots if they so choose.) Lichen is a big personality in a medium-sized package (really, she would be on the smaller side if it weren't for that tummy). She is often vocal and will let us know when she's feeling neglected (i.e. when everyone in the room isn't paying her 100% of their attention). She can be a little testy in new environments, but warms up quickly. The first time we plopped her in the back office, she was strutting around like she owned the place in minutes. The same happened during our photoshoot - she was just happy to be soaking up our attention and sniffing out a new room. She likes to weave around our legs to get us to pet her, and loves nose-to-tail stroking. She will tolerate being held for short periods of time but is quick to want down - she's more of a snuggle-in-your-lap kinda girl. We were told Lichen does not get along well with other cats, although she lived with 2 in the past. Because she can be grumpy about her boundaries and loud noises, we would not recommend her with young kids (younger than 10). She has not been tested with dogs. We were told Lichen was 9 years old, but based on her teeth and sprightly personality, we think she is closer to 5, as of March 2024. Lichen has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
