My name is Leslie, and I am a B-E-A-YOUTHIFUL young tuxedo lady looking for a family to call my very own. Maybe you're it? Well read more, and we'll find out! I came to Wayside all the way from the Lake of the Ozarks! I'm sure you can see me, lounging out by the lake like a cat of leisure (ugh, I wish!) but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I was with a lovely bunch of folks working at a local rescue out there - and they had way too many kitties! So, they sent me off to this new place called Wayside Waifs! Can you believe it? Wayside folks were nice enough, but transitioning to a new home after a roadtrip is hard for a kitty - I'm sure you understand. I decided to hole up in the back of my kennel. I was so scared and the anxiety of living in a small kennel was really getting to me. That's when I met my foster mom! She heard about me and decided to come scoop me up and take me home with her until I found a home of my very own! Life in foster has been WONDERFUL. After having a few days to adjust to my new temporary home, I started wanting to get to know my foster mom and her own resident kitty. My foster mom was surprised at how quickly I became affectionate, even crawling into her lap for some lovely cheek scritches! But, it's been so long since I had a lovely person to hang out with, it really is nice to feel loved again. I also am REALLY enjoying the resident kitty. My favorite thing in the world is to run up to him and give him a headbutt, then run off. He seems confused by me, but I know we'll be great friends as we continue to get to know each other. Despite how shy I was at the shelter, I've really blossomed and become more and more myself in foster. My foster mom gave me the patience and love I needed to feel safe enough to figure out home life, and I am so grateful to her! But, I'm ready to find YOU. My person, my family, my forever home. And I hope you're ready to find me too! Call Wayside to come and get me! Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Wayside Waifs in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets.
