My Story

Leonard Nimoy (Lenny) was previously a community cat—a favorite around the neighborhood and friend to many families who knew him as Ginger, Creamsicle, Orange, and other adorable nicknames—before he was attacked by another stray tomcat and was seriously injured. Leonard almost lost his leg and tail due to infection, but after a long recovery and many months spent in the dreaded “cone of shame,” he's fully healed! Lenny still a little cautious of new animals after being attacked (understandably!), but he's been showing a lot of progress toward coexisting with other cats thanks to his shiny new anti-anxiety medication. He's been cautiously playful and pleasant when he's run into other cats in his foster home, and recently tolerated a night safely crated next to fellow fosters remarkably well. Lenny is 2 years old, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, litter-trained, and very, very sweet! This goofy boy has never met a stranger. After over 7 months in quarantine as he healed and decompressed, he is more than ready for his own family. Lenny can be very independent, but he loves following his humans around and dishing out the gossip he learned while watching the birds through the window. He loves to be brushed, would do anything for wet food, and is very good at communicating his boundaries. He would love a home with plenty of room to run and play with a nice couch or windowsill for him to nap on. Lenny is looking for a home where he can be a solo cat or have a slow, safe introduction with any resident animals. He requires one very inexpensive medication (Prozac) in the morning, and may be able to wean off of this medication with a veterinarian’s guidance. But hey! Sometimes we need to get by with a little help from our friends. We believe he would do best in a more laid back home with older children (7+) that understand cat body language. Please inquire if Leonard Nimoy may be a good fit for your household! He would love to be your new best friend. Interested? Apply! meowornever.org/adopt
