Latke—so named because she’s a sweet little potato pancake who was rescued on the first night of Passover—was born outside and probably thought she’d have to suffer outside forever. Some kind soul trapped her, got her fixed, and released her, but she had the smarts to make her home in the yard of a F.A.T. Katz foster. After days of creeping and spying on the cats living in luxury, she made herself known to her foster mom, announcing with a squeak that she would like to have a real home. Sure, it took several days of kibble to entice her inside, but once she got her first taste of wet food, squishy beds, and human snuggles, she knew she’d made the right decision. Latke uses her voice constantly to ask her human roommates for affection. She nibbles, snuggles, flops, and licks as if she’s grown up around humans. This girl just wants to enjoy life on someone’s lap, purring up a storm, and being treated to food she doesn’t have to hunt, and beds she doesn’t have to make out of old leaves and branches.
