Laohu has been with us for quite a while. He came to the shelter when he had no where else to go, and he has adapted to shelter life quite well. He came in as a very obese kitty, but has managed to gradually and safely drop several kilos since he arrived. He does enjoy his meals but is getting more exercise than we believe he was getting previously so that helps.
Laohu has picked up the bad habit of peeing inappropriately to mark his territory - he has been checked at the vet and there is no medical reason for this, but is more likely a behavioural issue to do with him not enjoying sharing space with other cats. While he does get along with a few cats, he has a history of not being well behaved with a feline companion in a previous home, so we feel he would do best as an only cat.
He is a very affectionate cat, loves to snooze in cozy warm places, and enjoys his supervised time in the fresh air catio.
