Open: Monday 8AM–7PM, Tuesday 8AM–5PM, Wednesday8AM–5PM, Thursday 8AM–5PM, Friday 8AM–5PM, Saturday 9AM–12PM, Sunday** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE: To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. Apply to adopt with our online cat application: https://fs17.formsite.com/waverlypetrescue/form4/index.html Please go to our web-site to learn more about Waverly Pet Rescue: www.waverlypetrescue.com Kiwi and his siblings were abandoned in a garage in Denver, Iowa back in April 2024. His mother (we named her Molly) was found deceased next to her 5 baby kittens. He had a brother named Avocado who passed away a couple of weeks after being rescued. Waverly Pet Rescue took all the kittens in and they live in a foster home. They were bottle fed until they were old enough to eat wet kitten food. The kittens are negative for FeLV / FIV, up to date on shots, and Kiwi is neutered. If new family is local, he can be adopted now and his family can bring him to our vet to be neutered at a later time. If family is not local, he will need to be neutered before he goes home with you. Kiwi is about 12 weeks old as of July 3rd, 2024. All the kittens are tiny because they were very malnourished when rescued. They are good eaters and coming along nicely! We want to wait until they each are a bit bigger to get them fixed to make sure they are healthy enough and their little bodies can handle it. All the kittens love to play and race around! They are also very lovable too and like to cuddle. They do great with all other cats. They are scared of dogs at first but warm up to them with a little time. Kiwi cannot be an only pet. He either needs to be adopted with one of his siblings, or there must be a young cat in his adoptive home for him to play with and bond with. This kitten family are: Kiwi is the only male. Clementine is orange and white. Papaya is smaller than Tangerine and Tangerine is wearing an orange temporary collar. Kiwi is definitely the instigator. He’s very outgoing and LOVES to play. He wants a snuggle every now and again but for the most part he wants to be running around. Tangerine is the explorer. She doesn’t sit still and loves to search around. She won’t leave a corner unexplored if she can manage it. Clementine is very much a player. If her siblings are playing she is right there, if her siblings aren’t playing she is right there trying to get them to play. Loves to run around and play with her siblings. Papaya is my snuggle bug. She just loves to be cuddled so much. You can carry her around all day and she’d be perfectly content with it as long as she’s near you. She still plays and tussles with her siblings but she for sure is a lover not a fighter. (PAPAYA HAS BEEN ADOPTED) Adoption fee is $95.00. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to [email protected] All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters. Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office
