My Story
Kerplunk also goes by Kerplunkey Monkey, Kerplunk Goes Spelunking, Kerplunksicle, and various other creative nicknames that he does not adequately appreciate due to being a cat.
- Susceptible to flattery. Will approach when complimented excessively.
- Unpretentious. Tips over any bowl filled with highly nutritious, expensive wet food, and walks away.
- Introspective. Can often be found staring at nothing, presumably doing inner shadow work.
- Prideful yet unathletic. Runs into windows, topples off couches. Don't acknowledge it or he will get embarrassed.
- Chivalrous. Waits patiently for other cats to eat first. Responds to hostility with empathy.
- Eager to please. Will do anything to win your approval, except come out to meet you when you visit him. That is asking too much of an introvert.
- Ritualistic friendship process. Approach but maintain at least 8 feet distance. Crouch down and slowly lower down to the floor on your back. Say, "hello my sweet little angel, perfection-wrapped-in-a-feline-skin, Kerplunkey Monkey" in your most irritatingly soft and unassuming baby voice. Allow him to scamper away and observe you from a greater distance. Remain there for two to four business days and repeat. Congratulations, you are now Kerplunk's Friend.
- Sensitive to criticism. Knows what "being a bad boy" is, and he's not pleased with such labels.
- Has an ongoing vendetta against veterinary professionals. He would really prefer not to receive absolutely necessary veterinary care. Sometimes when veterinarians hold him to provide said care, he tries to bite them. Except all they feel is his squishy gumline because he's missing half his teeth. Did you know dental issues are common in cats and absurdly expensive? We've already spent an exorbitant amount of money on Kerplunk so you don't have to!
Kerplunk has been through so much and somehow came out more tender-hearted and kind than any cat we've had.
You can't have him unless you will love him more than anything. He will not make it hard. Fill out our adoption survey!

***ADOPTERS WELCOME: Community Cat Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare of community cats and rescuing as many friendly cats and kittens as possible. We believe open, progressive adoption policies save lives. We do not have rigid requirements of adopters. Our goal is to match you with the best cat for you and your household, and find a loving home for our cats and kittens.
***MEET OUR KITTENS: All cats and kittens are fostered in private homes to ensure they receive all the individualized attention and playtime that they deserve. This allows us not only to save kittens from growing up in a shelter environment, but also to communicate transparently with adopters about their personality traits. We are extremely responsive and flexible when it comes to scheduling visits. Please select the soonest day you are available for a visit in the adoption form, and we will work with you to make that happen.
***ADOPTION PROCESS: Once you decide to adopt, you will complete the Adoption Contract and adoption fee electronically within the form. You will receive our Adopter Information Packet, the cat's veterinary summary, and a receipt for your donation. Because we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, your adoption fee is a tax-deductible donation. We offer post-adoption support and counseling, and are always here if you have questions. We hope everything works out well with your new cat, but we understand that sometimes, the cat you bring home is not a fit for you and your family. That’s okay! Our team is here to support you through the difficult decision to return your pet to Community Cat Project if it isn’t working out, and we will take them back, no questions asked.
