My Story

Please check here for updated adoption hours. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. What my friends at ACC say about me: Kephale tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I am looking for a home with a patient person. A volunteer writes: Many people love a cuddly kitty right out the gate (I do, too) but my personal favorite is to be with a cat as they make some very relatable introductory miscalculations. Plus, sometimes we just have to consider the whole. Kephale was brought to us when his person became ill. Coming from a home with many other cats, adjusting to shelter life has admittedly not been his favorite. Kephale has shown some improvement and is looking for a patient family who understands we're all doing the best we can and that looks different everyday. That said, I can't say that first impressions are Kephale's strength, largely because he seems to favor hissy hellos, but after a few moments of standing with him, talking with him, and offering treats, Kephale lowered his head for some scritches. He gently nuzzled before explaining he had to go do something else and I found him and his efforts completely and utterly charming. He's had a lot of big changes in a short time, so I think it's understandable to have some mixed feelings about where he is. Kephale is very hopeful and deserving of a second chance at love and family. Primary Color: Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 10.9lbs Age: 7yrs 1mths 3wks
