My Story

We love our special boy so much. Below is what his friend Chachi, from The Real Cats Ride Again ( facebook), had to say about him. Jethro, aka Jet, has been at the pound for several months after arriving as an emaciated, flea-ridden senior with very few (if any) teeth. I was actually there the day he was brought in, and to be completely honest, I glanced at them working on him and thought for sure that he had cashed in his 9th life. HOWEVER...he was still there the next week when I visited. And the week after that. And the week after that...and as you can see he is STILL there, today, many weeks later! Jet is a little shy. I don't know if he has ever really known human kindness. He's not "hissy" or anything, he just kind of backs up if you reach for him. But sometimes, you CAN pet him! He just needs some time! Jet has definitely filled out and his coat looks fantastic now! He has been dealing with an on-and-off "poop" issue. The vet has done many tests and can not find anything wrong with him. He has now been on some special-diet food and last week I was told he is doing much better! Hopefully that will continue! What Jet needs now is a small miracle. Someone who will want a) a shy cat b) a senior cat and c) a cat who needs special food. Maybe that's a big miracle. But, miracles do happen! I have a good feeling that once Jet is in a home and OUT OF A CAGE, he may just start doing great! I think sometimes just being in a shelter atmosphere can mess up a cat's system, especially if he is nervous to begin with. Please share Jet's post, and I will try to do more for sharing so it will increase the chance he will be seen by some amazing person who is willing to give this old boy a chance to be out of that cage once and for all. ** Jethro, like all of our other cats, is an indoor ONLY cat. The average life span of an outdoor feral is two years. Outdoor cats are subject to these same elements and risk a distressing death. Please speak with Kim, the shelter manager and the town's ACO, for more information regarding this.
