My Story

Jax is a three to four year old platinum burmese (very, very rare in rescue!!!). Most burmese have some shade of green/gold eyes - but it IS possible for them to have blue eyes (due to generations of crossbreeding with siamese and tonkinese). So that's what Jax is - a blue eyed burmese! He is fully vetted (neutered, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, wormed, vaccinated, flea treated) and ready for his forever home! Jax was rescued from a local kill shelter - we have no idea how SUCH a sweet boy ended up there! Jax is just a DOLL! He loves people, loves attention - is very outgoing and affectionate. Very typical of the burmese breed!

Adoption donation - $150.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a not-for-profit organization who is committed to helping Persians, Himalayans, exotic shorthairs, and ragdolls. All of our expenses are funded by personal and private donations. All of our cats are kept in foster homes - please note, we do not have a shelter facility, so appointments must be made prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you email us, we will provide you with an application by email.

Adoption Fees: Our adoption donation for persian, himalayan, exotic shorthair, ragdoll and Maine Coon breeds are as follows: for an adult cat is $150, a kitten is $175 to $275 - depending on age, gender, and breed of kitten. Other breeds may have differing adoption donation amounts. We occasionally have reduced fees - these will be noted on the individual cat's listing. If someone adopts more then one cat from us, we will reduce the subsequent adoption fee(s) by $25 to $50 (depending on age of cats/kittens adopted). WE ONLY ACCEPT ADOPTION DONATIONS BY CREDIT CARD (VIA PAYPAL) OR CASH - WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS! The adoption fees help defray SOME of the costs associated with rescuing/fostering these kitties. Except for the persian, himalayan, and exotic shorthair cats listed on this site, South Texas Persian Rescue cannot guarantee the parentage or breed of cats on this site (unless otherwise noted that the cat is "purebreed"). Please note: if someone places a deposit on a cat/kitten to "hold" them until they are ready to go home, and the person changes their mind, the deposit is non-refundable - it is only refundable if the cat/kitten become unadoptable for some reason.

Donations are always welcome!
