My Story

Jake is looking for a home in St. Louis, Missouri. Jake loves to have kitty conversations while he chases catnip mice around the room. He's a talker! He's also very sweet once he trusts you. He will purr and happily sit on your lap. Jake wound up at a rural pound and was scheduled to die. The experience was frightening for him. He was in even more peril because he tests positive for FIV. Cats who test positive for FIV can lead a long and healthy life. They need access to good vet care and to be kept indoors. FIV is NOT transmitted to humans or dogs (or any species other than cats) and is only transmitted by a very deep bite. Many people have FIV+ cats living with cats who test negative. That is okay as long as you know the cats well enough to know they will not fight ferociously. And of course, you must conduct a proper introduction. Estimated to be around two years old, Jake is very well mannered and would love his very own home. He would be even happier if his friend Stan could be adopted with him! It is not essential, but they do love each other and chase each other back and forth all the time playing. Will you be the one to grant Jake's wish for a home? He'd really love his very own lap.
