Jadzia

*** Jadzia is in a foster home. *** Gray/black/white/orange tabico, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 8/1/23, #19196 Cats: needs to be only cat Dogs: unknown Children: older respectful kids Jadzia was a new arrival at a colony of homeless cats where there is a watchful caretaker who feeds them and gets any who need it spayed and neutered. A nearby apartment complex is a frequent source of new cats as people often move out and leave their cats behind to fend for themselves. Jadzia was very friendly and very happy to see the caretaker! Unable to find a guardian, she reached out to The Rescue House to help find Jadzia a new loving home. Jadzia is a very sweet and vocal kitty who likes to interact with her humans. She will follow you around to see what you're doing, and if you're sitting then she'll often get up on the couch and lie next to you. Sometimes she moves all the way into your lap for snuggles, but like any true tortie, Jadzia likes being able to make her own decisions. She's fine with being picked up and carried for a little while, though might want down before too long. She loves having a tall cat tree. As a young kitty with plenty of energy and enthusiasm for playtime, she is always looking for the Next Awesome Toy. Interactive wands, small fuzzy mice, chirpy bird toys, catnip... oh yes. She'll often carry toys around in her mouth to toss and then chase. Jadzia is particularly fond of pipe cleaners: twist several together and then into a spiral or other random shape and it's fun fun fun! Jadzia has struggled being around the other cats in her foster home and would clearly be happiest as an only cat. We don't know her thoughts on dogs. We haven't seen her around children. While younger and more boisterous children could be a bit much, older respectful kids would probably be alright. Jadzia is a lovely cat who is hoping to find a family to welcome her with open arms.
