My Story

Ivy is a sweet tuxedo mom who has raised a wonderful kitten. Now she is ready to frolic and relax the way she couldn’t during her own kittenhood. In her foster home, she’s also befriended tuxedo boy Buddy — a cat who didn’t click with other felines until he met sweet Ivy. Ivy has been a patient and loving mother to Simba. She tolerates his crazy kitten antics (when he jumps/pounces on her, puts her in a headlock, or attempts to nurse — even though he’s been weaned for several weeks now). She loves to play, especially with her shoelace. She absolutely adores Buddy and follows him wherever he goes. We would love for affectionate and loving Ivy to be adopted with her baby Simba and BFF Buddy. Simba is taking care of important cat business to make him adoption-ready. The adoption date for all three together depends on Simba’s go-date. * IF ADOPTED TOGETHER, IVY & CO. ARE SPONSORED * If there’s someone out there who wants to adopt this trio, a generous guardian angel has offered to pay the special adoption fee. Their future family will need to fill out the adoption application, go through the vetting process, and be approved — so we can ensure that they go to a safe and loving home — but their sponsor is generously picking up the tab. In early June, she was diagnosed suddenly with Eosinophilic Granulation Complex. The long-term resolution is a hypoallergenic diet, her vet tells us. Right now Ivy does not need daily medication, and we have just introduced her new food. She may experience flare-ups throughout her life that will require an additional vet visit and some medication, but our overall impression is that Ivy will live a happy and full life with a family that is diligent about her diet. Otherwise, Ivy’s health is good. She tested negative for FIV and FeLV, she’ll be up-to-date on vaccines, and she is spayed. We estimate that Ivy is around 1 year old, but she may be slightly younger.
