My Story

Ishtar is a delicate and opinionated little lady who enjoys a pampered lifestyle! She had a really difficult start to life, and wants to make up for all those wasted years with extra snuggles and extra treats. Her chunky little flat face is so adorable, it makes it nearly impossible to deny her every whim! She's not a huge fan of other dogs and cats, but is tollerant of them as long as they don't invade her personal space. Sometimes her foster thinks that Ishtar secretly enjoys sleeping next to their dog, as she'll slowly roll closer to her in the bed overnight. You'd be surprised with how playful she can be- she loves to stalk her feather wand toy, slap it, and then run away! Rolling on catnip toys, scratching flat cardboard scratchers, or chasing her tail inside a cardboard box are some of her other favorite pastimes. Ishtar is on a medication that gives her a huge appetite, but honestly, she was quite the foodie well before that! Despite her medications, that she easily takes with food, she had some chronic congestion that does not go away and leads her to snore. Imagine a pug or french bulldog- that's basically Ishtar! She loves snuggling, and never seems to get tired of being pet or kissed on. When she's not the center of attention, she'll quietly follow her humans around the house observing, or you'll find her taking a nap on top of the cat towers. If you're not sure where this little void is sleeping, calling out her name or singing are both valid ways to summon her! Prior to adoption, all cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, and microchipped. Ishtar tests positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus ("FIV") which causes a weakening of a cat's immune system. Cats with FIV can typically live a normal life, both in quality and longevity. Due to her FIV status, she has faced some challenges with inflamed gums, a condition known as stomatitis, but her resilient spirit shines through. With all her teeth having been removed, she's able to enjoy her favorite treats without discomfort. This cat is currently in a foster home. To meet the cat, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
