My Story

Note that all cats from Ukraine will require a home check. Breed - DSH Tortie Spayed Female Weight - about 8 pounds Estimated Age - 1 year If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTAR/Cat. For questions, email [email protected]. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: This cat is in a foster home. To meet, please complete the adoption questionnaire. LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Shana, [email protected] ADOPTION FEE: $170. This fee INCLUDES neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Good with other cats, but is happy to play side-by-side with them and not a physical contact player DOGS: Could likely adjust to a quiet dog who left her alone KIDS: Doesn't like to be handled and likely not a fit KNOWN LIKES: Wand toys! KNOWN DISLIKES: Doesn't like to be handled ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Irina is one of two kittens found with mother Mila during a spay/neuter campaign in the conflict areas of Ukraine. Irina and brother Artem were only about 2 weeks old, and the BTC team knew they were too young to safely leave behind. They brought them to the shelter where they have spent the last year. While well cared for at the shelter, it is in a war zone and the future is unclear for these kitties. Irina is a bit timid with new people and may shy away. She needs time and patience to build some confidence. She LOVES to play with ribbon toys and is very curious. We look forward to seeing her thrive in a stable home once safely in the US! Can you offer her the forever home she deserves? HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities. BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.
