My Story

PLEASE READ ALL BELOW - INTERESTED APPLICANTS SHOULD REQUEST AN APPLICATION BY EMAIL, NO PHONE CALLS UNTIL AFTER AN APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECIEVED - SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY India came to us about 3 years ago with 3 kittens. They had been living under an abandoned trailer in a mobile home park in a rural area about an hour from our city. A caring citizen alerted us and was able to trap India and her kittens and we took it from there. Since then, India has been that beautiful girl who just is content with sitting in the room that you're in, but does not want to receive any petting or any sort of touch. Our rescue owner has fostered her in her home and what doesn't help is that there is someone in the home who has severe cat allergies. So While India has a very nice space to hang out where she won't have a huge impact on the allergies, she isn't always able to be near humans to get more used to them. Recently we have discovered that India has been curious enough to sneak out when we are cleaning her space and go exploring until we are able to lure her back. So we thought we would put her up for adoption just to see if there are any TRUE EXPERIENCED CAT LOVERS who would allow India to have full roam of their home without actually interacting with her other than to feed her and clean her litter box. When she is comfortable with you SHE WILL many times come up right next to you and purr. We think it's very possible that she will eventually let someone pet her in a normal living situation, she just needs the right person who will give her the time and space. Is that you? This beautiful girl is spayed, will have her vaccinations up to date and microchipped. She needs to be an INDOOR ONLY CAT. She is litter box trained and has never sprayed or used the bathroom outside of her litter box. She has met our very gentle Cocker Spaniel and touched noses, then ran away, but she is scared of our large, loud dogs. She was at one time "roomates" with a male cat and we discovered she was chasing him away from his food - a learned behavior from having to live outdoors as a stray and fight for food. We think if she were to be adopted by someone with another cat, it would have to be a docile female who would go about their business and not bother her. We adopt to those who own their home or if you rent, you need to be the primary tenant on the lease with a positive rental history and a verifiable source of income. We ask this in order to put our animals in stable homes. If you are that experienced cat lover who can give India the patient, loving, indoor only home that she needs, please email us at: [email protected], and write in the subject line " ready to commit to India". THANK YOU!
