He and his siblings came to GRASP scared and semi-feral after spending the first two months of their life outside. It took time, patience, and ongoing socialization efforts in foster care to get them to warm up to and trust humans. They have learned to thrive indoors and with their foster humans and other resident cats. Hugo is sweet, playful, curious, and energetic. He loves spending time playing with his siblings (Eli, Cecil, Beatrice, Quinn), the other resident cats, as well as his humans, especially when they have wand toys and actively play with him. He enjoys tall cat towers, having access to lots of windows to watch birds from, being pet, and getting lots of treats and will purr up a storm for those things. He has also started to enjoy couch time and will happily curl up on the couch or in bed next to humans once his energy is out and he's sleepy. He tolerates being picked up and held but it's not his favorite yet. He can still be somewhat timid/unsure if approached too fast or with unpredictable movements, and with strangers. Hugo is looking for a home with folks who are somewhat experienced kitten owners and are willing to help him continue to blossom in his confidence and trust in people. He is mischievous and needs an adopter familiar with kitten energy and curiosity. He is also looking for a home with either one of his siblings or other friendly cats in order to bond.
