My Story

This is Hudson!! Hudson was found as a stray cat in a sweet families back yard. He had dragged himself up on to their back porch hoping that they would help him. His injuries were quite severe and needed immediate medical attention. When he was brought to the shelter the girls realized that he needed to see a Veterinarian right away so they rushed him to the vet as an emergency HBC. (HBC stands for Hit-by-car, or better known as The Hudson's Bay Company, which is where he got his name from) The vet had a good look at him and it was determined that he may never have full control of his bowels or bladder again. It was also unknown if he would ever be bale to walk again. Hudson has made a miraculous recovery with the diligent and tireless effort of the Staff at LAPS. Hudson required daily medication as well as Physio Therapy that had to be done several times a day. He also had to have his hind legs and private areas washed, cleaned, dried and have Vaseline applied twice a day as well! Hudson has recovered very well from his terrible accident but he still has a long way to go. Hudson has control of his bowels, but we are unsure if he has any control of his bladder as he urinates on his bedding and on the floor. He sometimes uses the litter box to urinate in but often misses. He is still a little wobbly when he walks/runs and loves to bolt around the shelter after hours with the staff. Hudson will require a home with a person/family who does not mind having to clean up urine if he misses his litter box, and someone who understands that he may require more medical attention in the future should his injuries from the accident cause him more problems. Hudson has severely impaired mobility and would never be an outside cat. He would be a sitting duck for predators. if you think you could offer Hudson a forever home, please call the shelter and ask to learn more about Hudson the miracle cat. In the pictures above you can see the severity of his injuries, those wounds have all healed up and the hair has grown back. He sure is a handsome young boy!
