My Story

This fun-loving boy has had a rough start to life after being found under a shed along with his siblings who were all battling a persistent upper respiratory infection. HousePanther Ken was hit pretty hard with this virus too but thankfully with a lot of care from Cats Only and the U of I he is finally all cleared and ready for adoption! Because he battled for so long, he is left with some symptoms that might be lifelong. These include occasional “snorts” mostly when he is drinking or grooming himself and “snores” when he is sound asleep. Sometimes he makes little noises or wheezes when he inhales or sniffs. Aside from these special little traits, he is completely happy and healthy and non-contagious to other animals and humans. This sweet boy was once attached at the hip to his mama. He loved getting all the affection from her and therefore now he loves getting all the pets and head scratches from his humans. He is very brave and curious and will often be the first one to explore new environments- giving the all clear to the siblings! House panther loves to play and loves to sneak attack his foster siblings! When he really gets in to it, his tail will get VERY puffy, and he will run VERY fast, (often with his brother in hot pursuit). When it’s time to go to bed, he’ll curl up at your legs and keep you warm. And when it’s time to wake up he will let you know :) He does great with other animals and dogs and warms up to other humans with time. He doesn’t have much experience with kids but we believe with time and proper introduction he would do fine. Although House Panther Ken can be independent at times, he does have a special bond with his biological brother Fairy Tail Ken. We would love to see them find a forever home together where they can continue to grow up together and be playmates for life! This lovable boy has been waiting so patiently for this moment. He would make a great addition to any home. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, and treated for routine parasites. If you’re interested in adopting House Panther Ken, please read about our process and complete an online application. His adoption fee is $55.
