My Story

Honey Buns is getting older and bigger. She also has a new treatment plan and diet. This is an up to date profile for 24Petconnect. Sweetest PERSONALITY Honey Buns is looking for a family to love. This playful kitty is a cuddler full of lap snuggles and games of chase. She is vocal and comedic with eyes that would melt hearts of all ages. She is a confident cat with a happy-go-lucky attitude. She loves people and quickly gets very attached. She craves attention and would love a full house where she is rarely alone. Special CARE & DIET Honey Buns has a sensitive tummy. Gut health is import to keep her healthy. She may have a food sensitivity to poultry and poultry bi-products. Because GI issues and food sensitivity is hard to diagnose, her veterinary specialist tried many special diets including gastrointestinal, hydrolyzed protein, and a variety of limited ingredient formulas. We have had great success treating her with a probiotic and prebiotic supplement along with a limited Ingredient diet. She is eating Natural Balance limited Ingredient Salmon and Green Pea Recipe, in both dry kibble and wet can food variety. We free feed (age/weight amount as directed on label) dry kibble and 1/2 can wet food with 1 supplement packet of Purina Pro Plan Fortiflora Plus (probiotic + prebiotic) added to the wet food daily. These can be found at Chewy.com, Amazon, and some pet stores. Do not switch her food without consulting with a vet. During times of stress or illness 1/4 tsp. of standard OTC unflavored power psyllium husk fiber can be added to her diet to reduce diarrhea. Please consult her gastrointestinal history with your vet before changing foods or starting medications, and ask for her medical records at adoption. Important NEEDS to Remember Honey Buns is rambunctiously fun and curious. Her playful kitten antics are cute but greater care should be taken to prevent her from accidental ingestion of anything other than her special diet. Adopters will need to kitten proof their home especially of house plants, food scraps, crumbs, trash cans, toilets, cleaning products, and other dangers that peak her curiosity. It is not recommended that she has access to another pet in the homes food or treats. She may possibly do best as the only pet if sequestered feeding is not strictly enforced. She is fully litter box trained, allows nail trims, and uses tall loop carpet
