My Story

Honey Bee was surrendered after living her entire life with her former person. She had never been to the vet, and it has taken an unfortunately long time to get her feeling healthy and happy again. Our little busy bee has hyperthyroidism, and needs twice daily medication. She is such a good girl, and takes her transdermal medication like the absolutely delight that she is. Honey Bee is affectionate, outgoing, and will be your most expensive date - she LOVES to eat! She is a favorite at the center, and enjoys pollinating her people with love. However, she does use her stinger (teefs) to let you know when she has had enough and needs a break to bask alone in the sunshine. Honey Bee would likely be happiest as an only cat, but may coexist peacefully with a less opinionated male worker bee (beau). #SaveTheBees UPDATE: Honey Bee will need to have IV fluids administered 3 times a week for the rest of her life. The good news is she acts like the perfect little cat she is when getting the fluids, and it is quite easy to do. Please don't let that deter you from letting this ray of sunshine into your life. This special kitty is available for adoption at the OARS Adoption Center 810 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, WI The adoption fee for one cat is $50. Adopt two adult cats on 'the buddy system' for only $75. Please note that we can only accept cash or checks, no credit cards. All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, up to date on rabies and distemper and have had de-wormer medication as a preventive measure. All have tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Some kitties may even have a microchip. HOW TO ADOPT *Download, complete and return an adoption application from our website https://orphananimalrescue.org/how-to-adopt. *Email the completed application to [email protected]. Open by appointment, please send a message to [email protected] to schedule once you complete an application. *Contact your veterinarian's office and NON-RELATED personal references to expect a phone call from someone at OARS. This helps us process the application within 2 days. We focus on providing personalized care for these cats in a loving, home-like environment. Cats live in community rooms and they are able to watch bird feeder activity and nap in a favorite sunny spot. We partner with other rescues and shelters when bringing pets to our rescue. We do not accept cats from the public. This approach allows us to help organizations near capacity or those with a special kitty that may need more attention. We are completely donation supported. All donations go towards food, supplies, medications and veterinary treatments for the homeless animals in our care. Get involved and be part of the difference for these pets.
