My Story

Meet Holston! On the outside, Holston looks like a perfectly normal kitty (aside from the adorable bobtail). He is a super sweet, outgoing little guy who loves to crawl all over his foster whenever they're on the couch together. He will purr and knead while she gives him kisses, and enjoys being held like the baby he is. Holston has an easygoing, sweet nature, and he runs, jumps, and gets into trouble like any other kitten. He plays well with the other kittens, adult cats, and dogs in the home. He has a special friend in Nibbles, a three-legged kitten who he enjoys snuggling up with. However, if you're around him long enough, you'll realize Holston isn't quite "normal." He will use a litterbox, but only for pooping. Poor little Holston cannot pee on his own. Holston came to us when he was 6 weeks old after being hit by a car. It left him with damage to his tail (which was eventually amputated), a broken leg that healed up perfectly, and nerve damage in his hind end. Because of the nerve damage, Holston can't feel when he has to pee. He has to be manually expressed a few times a day - think of it like squeezing a little water balloon. Because Holston has been expressed since he was very young, it doesn't bother him at all, and he is very patient while his mama takes care of him and cleans him up afterwards. Holston is kept in a crate overnight to prevent accidents, but during the day, he is very good about using his box for pooping. He also doesn't mind wearing diapers. As long as his bladder is expressed regularly, he doesn't have any leakage. Overall, Holston isn't the ideal kitten most families envision adopting - but his urinary issues are just one small piece of an overall amazing package. Holston is a sweet, friendly, well-rounded boy who is just looking for the right adopter to give him a chance. Holston is estimated to be about 7 months old as of December 2023. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. With an approved application, his adoption fee is $53.
